Well the snow is all gone and we survived all the flooding, but it's still dreary and wet. Typical weather in the PNW...unfortunately! I found a white sheer ruffled curtain panel at the Goodwill last time I was in and decided to put it in the window behind my clawfoot tub in my bathroom to let more light in on these dark winter days.

I also found a few old apothacary bottles at a local store recently. I just love these old bottles, don't you? The labels on them are still in great condition with a wonderful patina. These will be added to my collection on a shelf (as soon as the walls get painted and the shelf is hung). Enjoy! xoxo K.

My camera isn't working correctly and I'm going to need to send it back, so I will be without one until I can get a new one. Between that and getting ready for the Junk Salvation Show, I won't be posting much. Hopefully I'll have some great photos to share of the show. Winter has been in full force at my house these last couple days. Blizzard conditions with snow, wind and temps not getting much above 32 degrees....ugghhh! I apologize for getting this post up later than usual, but we have been without power all day long.

~Simple Winter Table Decor~

Since I'm loving simplicity right now, I decided to add this galvanized feeder to the center of my dining room table. Fillling it only with candles and pinecones. I like to keep pinecones around the house through the winter to add a little nature.

~White Wednesday # 134~

I finally got all my Christmas decor packed up and put away and am really liking the simplicity around my home. I'd like to eliminate so many little things sitting everywhere and have groupings of items instead.

One example is these brown bottles sitting on a mirror on a tiny cabinet between the sink and toilet in our powder room. The bottles aren't white, but the dried roses I set inside a couple of them and the labels on the bottles are so I figure it counts for a WW post:-) Enjoy! xoxo K.

~Adding Texture~

I got some decorating projects done over the holiday break and one of them was rearranging this shelf I have in my office. I loaded it up with books and coral with a couple clocks thrown in.

I love all the different textures. I'm sharing a few closeup photos and can share more of this room after I paint the walls(which in my opinion is not fun) and a couple pieces of furniture. I'm still going to be sharing areas that I am working on in my home throughout 2012 in hopes that it keeps me motivated to finish all the rooms that I'm wanting to redecorate. My paperwhites and hyacinths have been blooming and I love the fresh look they bring to my kitchen. I think this is the look I'm going for in the 2012: Clean and fresh!

I'm finishing up packing away all my Christmas decor today. It doesn't seem like it's ever up long enough to really enjoy, but once it's all taken down again, I like the uncluttered look and am in the mood to change things up a bit. Enjoy! xoxo K.

My paperwhites got so tall and kept falling over, so I just cut the blooms and put them in a vase to enjoy.

I'm really looking forward to what everyone has to share this year and to also finish up the many projects around here so I have lots to share with you as well. I recently started a Pinterest account where I can find tons of inspiration. Unfortunately, I think I've found one more thing to take up all my time:-)

Since I spent so much time cleaning and getting my house ready for my family to come and spend the day for Christmas this year, I though I'd share some photos of a couple rooms. And here we are at the last White Wednesday of 2011. I think we can all say there was an enormous amount of "white " inspiration to browse through this year. I want to thank everyone who not only participates every week, but also all of you who come over to take a peek at what everyone is up to. If it wasn't for all of you, this party would not be possible. I, for one, can't wait to see what everyone has to share in 2012:-)

Today I'm going to share a little of the white flowers I use to decorate at Christmas time. Unfortunately, I planted my paperwhites a little too late, so they are not quite blooming yet. I did a second planting, so I still have some really little guys sitting around as well(I think I like them best this way). Enjoy! xoxo K.

I always purchase tulips for my dining room.

And I love white poinsettas.

I tried white hyacinths this year and this little guy is barely peaking out. I'll have to leave my blooming bulbs for another post:-)

My last feature for the year is Marie at Lost Bird Studio. She is so very talented and the photos I chose are barely touching the surface at all her wonderful creations. These are some of her latest and I highy recomentd you take some time to browse her blog to see for yourself.

I've been thinking about this for a while now, and though I love featuring blogs every week, it has become very time consuming. My daughter has a dance class this year on Tuesday and it is limiting my time that day. I know everyone likes the idea as well as I, so I think I will limit it to a Featured Blog every month. Sorry if this disappoints any of you, but I think we all know how busy life gets and how sometimes we are very limited on time for blogging. Thanks for understanding:-)

~Greenery Around the House~

I'm taking a little break from cleaning to share with you a few vignettes that I've created using greens. My favorite this time of year is cedar, but I also use some fir to fill in bowls and baskets.

The house is smelling so good since I've brought in all this greenery. It always amazes me how much of an impact it can have just added to a shelf. Throw in some pinecones and it's a match made in heaven:-)

The other nice thing is it's all free. Our cedar tree out front needed trimming and the fir came from the bottom of our tree we brought inside. The pinecones are plentiful around here as well. Better get back to the cleaning....I'm running out of time. Enjoy! xoxo K.

I've been busy finishing my holiday decorating around my house and would like to share a few photos of some white trees. I finally got my chandelier hung in my kitchen....it only took 6 months, but better late than never and I LOVE it!

This area is in my dining room where I filled an old aquarium with some holiday goodies.

Welcome to another White Wednesday. I have to say there was a ton of inspiration last week with everyone getting ready for Christmas. A lot of you are further ahead on your decorating than I am, but I spent all day yesterday cleaning up my dining room, which was where I've been crafting for the last two months. Still have a little ways to go in there, but wanted to share a little corner with you today. Enjoy! xoxo K.

I recently found two winter items I'd been looking for. First is this set of white ice skates. I had been seeing them around, but not liking the price tag so much. I found these ones at the flea market for only $10, so I snagged them up:-)

Another recent find was these vintage feather angel wings for my mannequin. I had been looking for a while and decided to just buy some new ones and then of coarse I stumble upon these when I just happened to see a "garage sale" sign a few weeks ago and decided to stop. $20 later I had a huge smile on my face. They are pretty big and a nice shape.

I've got a great blog to share with you today if you are still in need of inspiration. Beth @ Olde Tyme Marketplace has the best white chippys ever and will gladly sell you some out of her Etsy store.

Ever since I stumbled upon her blog, I love to see her photos of the way she decorates her booth. Such style.....I love, love, love the doors in the background she uses as a backdrop for her display:-)

~Getting in the Mood & A Winner~

Finally getting inspired to work on some Christmas decorating. I thought I'd share with Donna over at Funky Junk for her SNS feature of "mantels & stockings" tonight. I like to keep my mantel simple with glass items and candles to reflect the light. I might add some greens as it gets closer to Christmas since they dry out so fast.

I also made new stockings this year and am happy with how these turned out. The burlap adds warmth to this area. Hope you are enjoying your holiday season and are having fun decorating. Enjoy! xoxo K.

Another week has flown by again. I spent the day yesterday taking down the window display and moving everything over to my booth getting ready for the Christmas show which I will share with you later this week.

I recently got this beautiful white Mary statue that I set on a great metal rusty table. I found the base at an estate sale a couple months ago and it was all bent, but my husband bent it back and added a wood top. This is one of those things that I buy to resell and then put it into my own home and fall in love with it:-) I can't keep everything though and it will probably find it's way up to my booth one of these days.

The number hymnal cards are from Chrissy at The Apothecary Shop. Last Summer she had posted about finding some at a sale and when I commented about how I'd love to come across some, she was so sweet and sent some to me. I had misplaced them(in one of my many piles) and just came across them today....sorry it took me so long, Chrissy and I appreciate your thoughtfulness:-)

Well Fall has certainly blown itself into the PNW, just in time for Thanksgiving. Brown and white transferware remind me of this time of year. You can imagine my delight when I came across all these pieces at a garage sale this Summer and at prices I could actually afford:-)

There is something about old paper that calls to me, especially if it has french handwriting on it. I've come across some lately and would like to share some things I've done with some of it.

I love it just stacked on a table or desk, but you can also add it to the bottom of a glass paperweight or a clipboard, wrap some around candles and I've even made some Christmas ornaments out of some. The possibilities are endless. Enjoy! xoxo K.

~It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas~

As we all know it can never be too early to sell Christmas items in the retail business. When I found out I was going to be in the window space at Monticello's for November, I knew I wanted to decorate it for Christmas and already had some cool pieces that would look great........like this awesome mantel and vintage feather tree.

I'm all set up and thought I'd share some photos with all of you who don't live close enough to see it in person. If you do, these displays always look better in person and you might just find something you just can't live without, so stop by sometime. I'll be there for the whole month:-)

It was getting dark when I was finally done and able to take the pics, so some are a little dark and it is a hard area to get photos of the whole area. These ones at the end are from outside so you can have a better idea. Enjoy! xoxo K.

~Rusty Birdcage Chandelier~

Hello everyone. I have been very absent lately due to life and family. My oldest daughter finished her volleyball season yesterday which has kept us hopping, so I'm going to be optimistic and hope I will have a little nore time on my hands. No winter sports, just my youngest daughter's dance classes two days a week. I've also been busy getting things ready for the window space at Monticello's where I will be for the month of November. It's going to be beginning to look a lot like Christmas:-) All these things in my life have kept me away from blogging as much or leaving comments, but I'm still here and still looking at all your wonderful blogs and hope to have more time in the future.

I know I already showed you a little bit of this area in my bedroom when I shared my lovely new bedspread, but I just added this wonderful rusty iron birdcage and stand and wanted to share it with you. I got this years ago from my friends Mom and it is amazing!!! I've always had it outside and in recent years I used them seperately. I looked out my window the other morning, saw it and a lightbulb went off. So I hosed it down brought it inside and added this little chandelier.

What do you think? Doesn't it look great? I love when things come together like this. Now hopefully the rest of the room can actually come together also. Just the right amount of rustic charm. Enjoy! xoxo K.

Well the weather here has gotten very chilly and was only 32 degrees when I took the kids to school this morning....bbrrr. I thought today would be a perfect day to share some photos of my snowberries. (Sorry for the poor quality of these pics...I'm still in desperate need of a new camera.)

I placed them in an old oil can and have them sitting in my laundry room next to a really cool old chalkboard that I picked up last month. Our laundry room is where my family comes in and out of our house most of the time, so it's a great place for notes. Still working on this room, but am really liking how it's coming along and can't wait to share. Enjoy! xoxo K.

I picked up this great old clock this weekend with the perfect amount of rust and chippy white paint. It reminds me of how fast time flies by. It's already the middle of the month and I've only had time for three posts. I have lots of ideas, but life and my family seem to take up most of my time lately.

We've been hit with some blustery weather lately which makes me want to stay inside and decorate. So this morning I started some soup in the crockpot and got busy changing a few things in my bedroom. This room has been so neglected with piles everywhere even though I've envisioned how I'd like it for a while now.

My goal today was to share with you the lovely ruffled prairie style bedspread and pillows that I purchased way back at the beginning of the Summer....sorry it took so long Shellagh. This has got me started on this room and am now excited to keep working on it. I will share more photos as things are completed.

I can't tell you enough how much I love them:-) I think they are a perfect fit for all my other bedroom decor. The perfect amount of ruffles in a creamy soft fabric......yum! This is a white rosary I just found sitting on a couple french bibles. Enjoy! xoxo K.

I think it is fitting to feature Shellagh's blog and linen shoppe today...Ticking and Toile. Some of you may already be familiar with her, but if you are not, I'd advise you to get on over there and check it out:-) She is a talented seamstress and has some great stuff for sale.

We met a couple years ago and have stayed in contact and try to get together when time allows. She has made some great pillows, tablecloth etc... for me and I couldn't be happier with all of them. Here are a couple pics of her bedroom....love it!

~Sunflowers Make me Smile~

There is something about sunflowers that make me smile....they seem like such a happy flower. They also remind me of Fall. I've tried to dry the big ones after all the petals have fallen out, but they always seem to mold. Maybe someone has a suggestion for me:-)

I purchased this wooden egg crate from my sweet friend Julie's booth at Monticello's a couple weeks ago and added the "eggs" stencil. This will end up above my kitchen cabinets with all my other wood crates, wicker baskets and jugs. It's hard to get photos up there, so I placed it by my sunflowers in my laundry room to take these pictures.

I put this lovely shade of yellow smaller sunflowers in a glass jar that is covered with craft paper and some burlap numbers tied on by some jute.....easy, peasy. Enjoy! xoxo K.

I'd also like to mention that Julie's family is going through a tough time right now since her 15 year old daughter was diagnosed with cancer recently. Please say a few prayers for them....Thank you:-)

Since the weather has turned very cool and breezy around here I decided to do a little Fall decorating. I've seen all kinds of different pumpkins around blogland lately and am going to try my hand at making some burlap ones when I have a chance.

I bought this white one at Goodwill last year which I can use until they start selling the real white ones and it's great to use indoors. I put it in one of my all time favorite urns(love it's patina) then hung this piece of a ceiling tile behind with one of my french music cards. It's a perfect vignette for this skinny wall between my window and corner hutch in my dining room. Enjoy! xoxo K.

Looks like we're in for a treat of temps in the 80's for the rest of the week. This is good news after a cool rainy weekend. I'm loving my white hydrangea that is blooming right now. I cut a few blooms to bring inside and put them in this wonderful little old container.

Don't you just love the crazing. The lid has a crack, but that never bothers me:-) I think some old silverware would look good also. Sitting on one of my book bundles along with candles wrapped in old french paper makes the perfect vignette. Enjoy! xoxo K.

~A Few French Finds~

I was lucky enough to attend an awesome sale last weekend that was a room filled with the loveliest items all from France. What a lucky lady to be able to travel there and purchase wonderful frenchy finds to bring back and sell. That would be a dream come true for me.

My favorite purchase was this galvanized drying rack that came with these lovely little bottles. If only I had room for it, but unfortunately I just don't so it along with some of my other finds will be heading up to my booth at Monticello's in the morning to hopefully find a new home:-)

Another great galvanized piece was this little pie safe which would look great sitting on a kitchen counter filled with ironstone. I can never pass up these tags with numbers and was excited to find some music cards along with a metal egg basket.

The stacking baskets will reside in my bedroom since I've been looking for some for a while now and I have some plans for the french papers I purchased, but these look great sitting anywhere in your home.

As Summer is winding down so are most of my flowers in the garden. My dahlias, however, are in full bloom. I noticed some white ones mixed in as I drove in the driveway this morning and remembered I had just purchased this perfect tall white pitcher. I love it's shape and think the flowers look lovely inside it. Enjoy! xoxo K.

Just a quick post as I'm frantically trying to get everything together and priced to take up to my booth at Monticello's for the Fall Show I won't be in the back room this year, but will have my normal booth filled to the brim with goodies. Time.......where does it go? It's hard for me to believe there's only one week left of summer vacation before I send my kids back to school. I, for one am going to miss the slow paced lazy days of Summer.

You know summer will be coming to an end when you see the Queen Anne's Lace all along the country roads. They are such a simple, yet intricate flower that remind me of the olden days when things were a bit slower. I wonder if time flew by for them like it does for me? Enjoy! xoxo K.

Taking a break to share with you a little sneak peek of a few whites that will be at my booth this Saturday at the Camas Vintage Street Faire. Am I the only one who can't resist statuary? I love it in all shapes and sizes.

Mix it up with some natural elements like coral and antlers and you have the perfect vignette.

Today I'm pleased to be featuring Sarah from Roost ReImagined who I met a little over a year ago. She has a tremendous amount of energy and talent that she puts into all her shows that she does with her Mom. They are both so sweet and have the best displays and vignettes along with many creations they've made.

I especially love this loveseat she made out of an old metal headboard piled high with comfy pillows.

I hope you are all having a wonderful week so far. I had a great junking weekend and found tons of stuff, but my favorite part of it was getting to meet up with the lovely Rene' of Miss Gracie's House. She was in town and wanted to get together so we met at a local street fair going on and also was able to do some old fashioned pickin' at a barn sale. We found all kinds of great rusty junk and had a great time visiting. I wish she lived closer so we could do it more often:-) I'll be sharing some of my purchases over the next week as I'm getting ready to do the Camas Vintage Street Sale on Sat. August 27th.

I've been wanting to share these white impatients all lined up in pots on my windowbox. This was something simple my husband made for me with just some metal brackets with a board lying across it and some thick rusty wire to help keep the pots in place.

I love how I can enjoy these pots filled with flowers from both the inside and out. I love the simplicity of these flowers and they do well here because they only get early morning sun. Enjoy! xoxo K.

~Pretty in Pink~

I wanted to share another beautiful bouquet my Mom gave me. This time in all "pink" flowers. Isn't it beautiful? Look at her creativity.....taking a plain glass jar and adding some lace(an old cuff from a dress with buttons) and pink buttons at the bottom of the jar. It gives it such a vintage feel.

The pink roses and zinnias are some of my favorites. My daughter Brenna wanted a photo with these beauties. Pink is her favorite color and after her shower she was reading on the porch so I took them outside to sit next to my favorite birdcage. Enjoy! xoxo K.

I've been working on a few things to take up to my booth tomorrow this afternoon. I found some great ironstone platters last week and a brown transferware gravy boat all at the Goodwill. Sometimes it pays to stop in. I've never seen brown transferware there before and it does have a couple cracks, but for the price, I don't mind.

I'll be taking this great old white cupboard perfect for holding all your transferware or ironstone dishes along with an old tote that also looks good filled with platters. Better get back to work:-) Enjoy! xoxo K.

Wow, another week already gone by and can you believe it's already August? Summer goes by way to quickly in my opinion. I hope you are all enjoying these relaxing days.

I have tons of white daisies blooming right now, so I decided I should cut some to enjoy before they are all gone. I created a white daisy meets rustic vignette out on one of my outdoor tables. I had purchased this metal thing that had a handle and have never really known what was used for.

A friend of mine, Sarah told me she had one and removed the handle so she could use it as a sort of flower frog/ vase. I put a wide mouthed jar underneath to hold the stems. What do you think? Pretty good idea, huh. Thanks Sarah:) I love to find ideas to use all this wonderful old and rusty stuff. Enjoy! xoxo K.

I bought a couple new lavander plants a couple weeks ago, but hadn't had time to get them planted. I also found one of these old canvas buckets while junking and decided to put my lanander in it until I can get it planted in the ground. These buckets are fun for so many things and this one has the letter "US" stamped on it so I'm assuming it was used in the military. I was hoping to share some photos of whites on my porch today, but alas...more rain and dreary skies is what I woke up to again this morning. Hopefully there will be some sun shining for me for next week's post....I mean it is Summer, right? If you are living in the PNW, you might begin to wonder.

Luckily I had some photos saved that I had taken of some roses from one of my favorite wild rose bushes that was loaded this year in a sea of white that smelled heavenly everytime you passed by. I love to spread these in different areas in the house since their blooms don't last very long. Enjoy! xoxo K.

One place they usually end up is in my pitchers under my scale by my kitchen sink where I can enjoy them while cooking in the kitchen.

I had fun this weekend searching for vintage goodies and rusty junk and added a few of my finds to my mantel. I've been searching for the fan type pieces of coral for some time now and got lucky enough to find two. I think one will make it's way to my bathroom for my shelf with apothecary items.

I also found this unique piece of sponge that reminds me of fingers in the same booth.

I wanted to add this old piece of paper with french writing on it, but couldn't make it stand on it's own. I clipped it to a clipboard for now and can't decide if I like it there or not...it might look better in my office. Just a few additions to give it a beachy feel just in time for the warm lazy days of Summer. Enjoy! xoxo K.

While visiting my Mom and Dad on 4th of July, I couldn't resist taking some photos of her gorgeous garden. Her whole backyard and patio are just bursting with color, garden art and statues. She has a brick patio filled to the brim with pots overflowing with blooms. Ever since I can remember my Mom has had a yard full of flowers and my Dad grows an amazing vegetable garden. This must be where I get my love of being out in the sun digging in the dirt. When we first purchased our property they both gave us many starts of shrubs, roses,vegetables, berries and perrenials to help us get our garden going. Hope you enjoy some of her blooms.

I hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend. This Summer is already flying by, but at least we are finally feeling summer like temperatures. Today I'd like to share a vignette in my bathroom with a trio of mirrors and some apothacary jars and bottles. I'd been looking for a third mirror that had a rounded top to complete this area and was lucky enough to find one the day I met Rebecca at Monticello's about a month ago. I loved all it's chippiness and the old glass is always a must. I really like them paired with all the glass jars and bottles. Enjoy! xoxo K.

I was so excited to get to meet Rebecca and she didn't disappoint. We talked and shopped like we'd known each other forever. Her and her daughter, Jody were getting ready to do Farm Chicks and are now in the process of getting ready for the Horton's of Tipton Sale this weekend. I so wish I could be there to see what this fabulous duo put together...they are both so sweet and I really enjoyed getting to meet both of them.

Today I'm featuring a blog that I've recently found called Michella Marie. I've been drawn to ruffles lately and this girl has them down. I loved this ruffled apron she made and also this lampshade.

But you have to check out her tent she created. Michella has a booth at The Antique Gallery in Texas and she calles her space The Gypsy Caravan. Don't you just love this? It's so dreamy and the ruffled edge is just perfect. She also has an Etsy site, so take a moment to stop by and check it out!

~The Last of my Peonies~

I wanted to wish everyone a safe and happy 4th of July weekend. The weather here is gorgeous and my family is just relaxing and enjoying it. I cut a few blooms from the last of my peonies which I'm sad to see go since they are my favorite. I paired them with some of my wild roses that are just starting to bloom in a blue jar sitting on an old cabinet I found last week. Enjoy! xoxo K.

I really like using these old canning jars to hold flowers especially the ones that are faded and have bubbles in the glass.

I wanted to thank everyone who left such lovely comments about the changes in my kitchen. My Mom and Dad came up to visit us last week and my Mom brought me a lovely boquet from her garden. She knows me well and it was filled with all white flowers so I could use it for one of my WW posts. Her garden is amazing and I got my love of gardening, decorating and junking from her. My love of collecting I would say I got from my Dad though. We might have different collections, but one can never have enough, right Dad? :-)

I decided to replace the flowers I had used when taking photos of my kitchen with these new ones to share in my post today. I love how they looked next to my brown transferware dishes. I also love how she used the pod of the columbine for greenery with the feverfew and white roses....love this combination! I recently purchased this linen towel along with some pot holders from Wisteria. They have ruffles and I am really like them. Enjoy! xoxo K.

~A Few Changes in my Kitchen~

I've been busy lately changing a few things in my kitchen. Nothing too major. I started by changing what i had up above my cabinets. This has always been a hard area for me to decorate. Previously I had lots of different sized white pitchers, but wanted to simplify a little. I also wanted to add a darker color to the mix and went with wicker baskets and wicker covered glass jugs along with a couple wood boxes.

I also replaced the table that we used as an island with a smaller one and I added a new shelf filled with white pitchers above one of my cupboards. I'd really like to strip this cupboard down to the original wood, since it is a yellowish cream color right now, but it's so much work....maybe it'll get done this Summer:-)

This last photo is showing an area into my dining room which is next on the list to be redone. Not too much more to do in there and I'm really liking all the architectural pieces I've accumulated . Hope you enjoyed touring my kitchen! xoxo K.

Well it's the first day of Summer and it is a beautiful warm sunny day and I'm loving it. I decided to head outside and take some photos of my white geraniums that I have planted in the urns on either side of my front porch. Well tomorrow is finally the last day of school and I, for one, am very excited. I'm looking forward to spending more time at home with my kids and not running them around in the car. I'm also hoping to be able to get some projects done this Summer and have a little more time to check out everyone's blogs:-)

~Peonies and a Special Thank You~

To say things have been a bit busy around here would be an understatement. This time of year is always full of activities with school, graduations, dance recital for my youngest daughter and her birthday was yesterday also. My baby is eleven.....oh where does the time go?

I helped make flower arrangements for the Graduation at the girls' school last Friday and lucky me....there were some peonies left over which I was able to bring home and enjoy. Good thing, because mine are still buds since the weather has been so cool this year.

I have also been very fortunate in the gift department lately. Two unexpected packages showed up in my mailbox last week. The first was from the ever so sweet Michelle at Petite Michelle Louise and was this wonderful book bundle personalized for me and the Anniversary of WW. I love these things and use them in my decorating and this one is especially special because it was made by Michelle.

The second was from Rita At Mamma Bell Arte. I was so excited to receive this soldered charm made for me by Rita as a token of her thanks for my hosting of WW every week. I love it and feel honored to own something made by such a talented and sweet lady.

Since Summer is taking it's own sweet time to make it here in the PNW, I've decided to bring a little bit of the beach into my home. We did have a beautiful weekend and I got some much needed yard work done along with a little bit of junkin. I found some more pieces of coral and and a couple shells so I decided to fill my dough bowl in my dining room with them. I had intended on placing this bowl on our table, but didin't really like the wood on wood, so am now on the lookout for something else forthe center of the table. This room seems to be getting filled up with lots of architectural pieces and I love the look. Enjoy! xoxo K.

I really love all the texture when they are piled in this bowl or in the urn on my little table.

Can you see my lilac bush outside this window? They are such a pretty sight and when the window is open, the smell is heavenly:-)

I hope everyone had a nice, relaxing holiday weekend. I was able to get out in my yard for a few hours yesterday between rain showers to get some plants that I've bought planted, but still have lots to do. Peonies are one of my favorite flowers and I picked up a few new ones to add to my garden. One of them has this beautiful white bloom with just a touch of pink. The new ones I just bought have huge buds and are starting to bloom already, but all of my original ones are still tiny buds due to this cold and wet weather we've been having. Hopefully I'll have many more to bring inside to enjoy. I placed them in a white pitcher on my cupboard in an area in my kitchen that I've been changin up. Can't wait to share the whole room. ~For the Love of Lilacs~

The lilac bush planted right outside our dining room window has a ton of blooms this year(finally) and this morning the sun was shining on them, so I decided to cut some so I could enjoy and smell their lovely fragerance inside. By the time I had cut them and brought them into my laundry room sink to make my arrangement the sky was black and it was pouring. That's pretty much what it's been doing all day here:-( Oh well, I can still enjoy these beauties from the comfort of my home this weekend.

When we built our home we put this old galvanized sink in the laundry room and I love how it still had the top. I usually put the top on when cutting and making my flower arrangements and then take it off and sit the container in the sink while filling it with water. It works great. The laundry room is another, on the long list, of rooms I'm redoing and can't wait to share photos with you when finished. Enjoy! xoxo K.

I hope everyone has had a nice weekend. It was supposed to rain all weekend, but surprisingly it turned out pretty dry and I was able to get outside and work. I finished planting all my pots on my porch and patio so now I can sit back and watch them grow:-) I decided to cut some branches off my apple tree before they are done blooming so I could enjoy them in the house. They look nice in my enamelware pitcher and it made a perfect backdrop for my daughters to draw the winners of my giveaways....yeah!

My oldest daughter, Nichole was kind enough to cut out all the numbers. And there were quite a few....look how they filled up my wooden bowl!

Brenna, my youngest was so excited to be able to draw the numbers.

It's Time!!!!!!! I never thought almost two years ago when I started WW that I'd ever reach 100, but here I sit typing my 100th post. This has been such a wonderful outlet for me. When I started blogging, I wanted to find more blogs out there that had similar interests as mine so I decided to try a linky party. I've always liked to decorate with white and so "White Wednesday" was born. It started out slowly, but gradually more and more of you started participating. I kept getting comments and emails about how much you looked forward to Wednesdays so you could either link up or check out everyone else's posts for the day. It has certainly kept me motivated to keep blogging when there have been many times that I feel I have nothing interesting to post about. Not to mention all the friendships I've made, even if through cyberspace and some of you I've been fortunate enough to actually meet in person.

My only regret is that I don't seem to have enough time right now to be able to leave comments to everyone who plays along or who leaves comments on my blog. I just want everyone to know how much I appreciate all the support for not only this theme party, but also my blog.

Posting a bit early today because I have to leave soon to take my daughter to an Appt. Our pear tree is almost done blooming so I thought I'd cut a few branches and bring them inside to enjoy. Sorry about the quality of these photos. the lighting wasn't great and really in need of a new camera. I have two pairs of these wonderfully chippy shutters that I used as my background and will be taking one pair up to my space at Monticello's later this afternoon. I bought this white plant stand a couple weeks ago with every intention of selling it also, but I might hang onto it for a while so I can use it on a table with plates of appetizers this Summer. I received an email from Sheila over at Tattered Goods saying that she'd like to donate a couple of her fabulous tea towels that she carries in her Etsy store. I think she is sprucing things up over there right now, but will have it up and running again soon. I love these towels and am getting a couple for myself. I hope all of you Moms out there are having a wonderful day spent exactly how you wish:-) As for me, all I wanted is a day spent at home relaxing. I woke up to a wonderful breakfast, some beautiful white tulips(my fav), chocolate and a coupon good for a day at a Spa......lucky Mommy! Since I put my flowers in my silver pitcher I thought I'd join up with Beth over at Gypsy Fish for Silver Sunday today, so go on over and check out her site when you're done here. Only two more weeks until No. 100. Wow, that's a lot of white! I can't wait and I've lined up a few wonderfully talented ladies who will be donating some items, so there won't only be one giveaway. I recently acquired a few new whites this weekend and they all went up to my booth, so I snapped a few pics while up there yesterday. I'm posting a little early today since I won't be available this afternoon. I was scrambling a little this morning to think of what to even post about and then I walked out of my bathroom and saw a glimpse of sun trying to shine through my lace curtain in this corner of my bedroom. I figured I better take the opportunity because the sun shining is very rare around here these days. This room, like many others in my home, is on the list for a makeover. It will get a paint job and furniture rearranging along with some simplifying. Probably won't get to it until this Summer, but I have lots of ideas:) Enjoy! xoxo K.

These dried roses are from my garden. When in bloom this shrub rose is just covered in these tiny beautiful white lovelies.

I added this frameless mirror to try and get a reflection since the light wasn't the best. Mirrors always add so much detail to any area.

It's a beautiful sunny morning here and I'd like to share some photos of part of our kitchen with you. I guess you would call this part of the kitchen the breakfast room where our table resides. I've wanted a new table in here for a while now and found this awesome round one which fits perfectly. I love how it looks with my white primitive cupboard in this room. We had a window seat built in which I've got piled with lots of pillows where you have a perfect view of our pond. I've shown you several closeup shots of this room as I've been redoing it, but today I'd like to share the whole area and hopefully soon will be able to show the other half of the kitchen. This table is a perfect fit and I love how we can seat more people around it than we could our other one. You can't beat it's original crackled paint either.

I found this architectural piece last Summer and hung it from the ceiling between the two rooms above the counter.

My girls love to write notes or what's on the menu for the night on the chalkboard that I recently added to this room.

I'm joining in with Debra over at Common Ground for VIF even though I don't have an Easter theme, but this is where we will have our brunch on Sunday morning with my parents. Wishing you all a blessed Easter weekend.

Has it already been a week since my last post? I had every intention to get another one in, but I guess a little thing called life had other plans for me. The sun is shining today, a little chilly, but I'll take the sun over rain and clouds anyday. My camillia bushes are starting to bloom. We planted a pink and a white one when we first moved in and they are quite large now. I decided to bring in a couple blooms to add to the pitchers that reside on my scale behind my sink. I did get one area of our kitchen finished and am excited to share this lovely table that I switched with my old one. Look at the crackle on this thing.....I love it!..thanks Sue. I'll be sharing pics of the whole area this Friday and still waiting on my husband to build me a shelf in the other part of the kitchen so I can share it as well.
