~Seasonal Changes on the Porch~

It's hard for me to believe that Thanksgiving is less than a week away and that it's been four months since my last blog post.  Every year I struggle to transition into colder wet weather and this year especially since I was very busy doing Shows and Summer went by in a blur!

This porch is my happy place during the warmer months.

This year I found these grey cushions for this metal outdoor furniture and really like how they look in this area especially with the front door.  They are darker than what I've had in the past and easier to keep looking clean.

I always add pumpkins on the porch along with potted plants and succulents.

Unfortunately we're at that time of year where it's too cold to spend much time out here in this space, but I will look forward to Spring when the temperatures will rise again.

And I always look forward to decorating my porch for the Holidays with fresh greens, wreaths and more plants to provide a welcoming area for guests.

These pillars are a new addition to the area and trying to figure out what I should put on them...any suggestions?

Enjoy your weekend!

  1. Beautiful as usual!!! I can see ferns sitting on those pillars during the warmer months and little Christmas trees during the holidays. Some garlands around the pillars would also look very festive. Whatever you do will look amazing:) Looking forward to seeing this year's holiday home tour.

  2. For your pillars I would put a swag of evergreens from one to the other.
Or a fist full of evergreens with a bow ( tied to the pillars on the front of them a few inches from the top of each.) You could also wrap them with red ribbon like candy cane.

  3. The grey is my favorite for Autumn and Winter months. Everything is beautiful. The France Postes pillow is also a favorite...I have two! I just tosses our pumpkins. I was ready for the whites and greys of seashells and driftwood and metal farmhouse stars in their place. Happy holiday season to you and your loves. Calm tidings, Kerrie.

PS I am returning to blogging and I hope you will come visit.

  5. Love your porch! I would put two lanterns on the posts - in warmer weather two pots of ferns would look wonderful!

  9. It is SO refreshing to see your post which has not rushed through the Fall season. Rare to find bloggers that have not filled their posts with Christmas decor for the past 8 weeks. I find your post inspirational, timely and charming. Like yours, my farmhouse is white with gray trim and I also have two old columns very similar to yours. I normally top them with ferns, and just prop them up empty at other times of the year. Lovely pictures.
