~Adding Color~

Change usually comes with the New Year in my home and this year I will be adding a little bit of color to some areas.  Nothing to bold since I still love my neutral palette, but a few soft pastel shades are making their way into my decor.  Enjoy!  xoxo K.

I remembered I had this old green door outside in the shed that I picked up at a garage sale years ago(it belonged to a former grade school teacher of my husbands whom I had never met until I started talking to the man holding the sale and realized the connection).

The pale green primitive table was brought inside to the laundry room before Christmas where my French bottle drying rack now resides so the door was perfect for leaning against the wall to cover the electrical panel in this room.

The last planting of my paper whites have just started blooming and they like it in this spot by the window. My ever growing collection of French green bottles and jars are also being used in this room.

Another hope of mine for this year is to make the time to be sitting at this table sewing some projects I've been wanting to make for a while now.

I hope you have a nice week as it's been pretty quiet in my house since my kids have gone back to school.  The weather has also changed on us and went from being unseasonably cold not getting above freezing to unseasonably warm in the high 50's, but they are saying we might see the sun so that would be wonderful this time of year:-)

  5. Lovely choice of color. These are the soft, faded colors I choose too...ones from nature, usually the gentle sea green blues. Your door is beautiful and the entire room so calming.

  27. Kathleen, love your addition of the green door, it's subleness in tone works softly and gently in your mix of neutrals. In fact I would have looked at your photos thinking how much I loved your soft gentle tones. Green being a natural element in earthy designs just adds a bit of nature to your style.

Love the vignettes, and the feeling of your room, I too have added a bit of colour in a pillow with blue velvet, and I plan to bring in more of this stone washed blue tone.

See you soon and your beauty you create here.

    Xx
