~Simplicity~

I do believe that the last of our hot weather is over for the year with cooler temps the next couple days and then rain expected in the middle of the week. I'm glad I finished cutting back all my hydrangeas blooms to bring inside to dry before the rains come.

I placed some in a French zinc pitcher and decided that's all that was needed as a centerpiece on my round table. Sometimes simple is best, don't you think?  Enjoy!  xoxo K.

I hung these shutters on either side of the windows in the window seat shortly after we moved in and still love them 11 years later.  The chandelier was added a few years ago and finishes this area nicely.

I love how these ones have faded perfectly into a lovely greenish color.

I will certainly miss looking out these windows to see the sun shining over my flowers, but do look forward to enjoying dried hydrangeas in my home during the Winter months.
I also added a few to this market bag I purchased from Maria at Dreamy Whites last year.  So many ways to display hydrangeas throughout your home.

Enjoy your week!

  4. HI Kathleen,
It is sad to say good bye to summer but the fall colors and cooler temps will be beautiful. We are having 70's all week with sunshine no rain and maybe even an 80 on Saturday here in the Chicago area. I am savoring every last minute of this beautiful weather before the cold hits. Have a great day love your hydrangeas.

  12. It is all so lovely on a simple September day. We are in a drought so I had very little luck with flowers this Summer. Everything died. A few Cosmo blooms out my bedroom window is all.
