~A Sunny Summer Morning~

Can you believe it's the last week of August?  Where did the Summer go?  My girls will start back to school in a week, so we are trying to soak up the last bit of sun.  We've had beautiful weather this year and I'm going to miss it since there is a feel of Fall in the air lately.

I've had an abundance of hydrangeas this year and have enjoyed many bouquets in my home.  Enjoy! xoxo K.

I added this lovely weathered and worn crusty iron chandelier above my clawfoot tub a while back.  When we were building our home I wanted one there, but it was against code. This one needs to be rewired so I decided to just leave it and use candles instead.  Love the look it brings to my bathroom and the patina goes so well with my rustic ladder.

I have many shells and pieces of coral in this bathroom which gives it a beachy  feel.

My collection of apothecary bottles mixed with the sea life also resides in this room mostly on this shelf.

Enjoy the last of Summer!

  1. Love your displays and glad someone has plentiful hydrangea blooms. Most I have heard don't. I only had about ten blooms. I think it got too cold plus the snow must have done something to them.
Glad you liked my misspelled word on instagram. OOPS!

  5. Your bathroom looks so lovely and I love that claw tub. It is strange how things change in life. When I was little the claw tubs were so out of date, but now they are back in and everyone wants one, including me. HA! HA!

  9. The room is stunning. Love every detail here. I had the same issue with a chandelier I wanted over the tub. I was told it's not up to code and since I needed it to function, I had to move it to the center of the room. I like your candle solution... :-)

  12. I love how you added the shells and coral to add a beachy feel without the 'beach theme'! It is an inviting space where I'm sure you find time to relax every now and again! Blessings

  16. Such a great space to soak and relax in, Kathleen! I love that tub. I like your idea for the chandelier. I would think it would be against code (for safety reasons anyway, although I don't think I've ever had a ceiling fixture fall) so I like that you are using it and have put candles in it. I'll bet it looks wonderful with the candles lit.

It sounds like you were a lucky one with your hydrangeas. I've read other bloggers have not had any flowers this year and I only had one of my three bushes flower this year.
