~The Heavenly Scent of Lilacs~

Our weather here in the PNW has been absolutely amazing this Spring and everything in our yard is growing like crazy.  My lilac bush seemed to bloom all at once, so I figured I had better bring some in the house before they were all done.

Am I the only one who loves their scent?  The lovely aroma is filling up my whole house and it is just heavenly!  This large pitcher is overflowing with lilac blooms and I added some to the chicken feeder centerpiece in my dining room as well, but I figured I've already shared that with you too many times as it is.  The color is a nice addition to my neutral palette.  Enjoy!  xoxo K.

I've been busy trying to get ready for The Farm Chicks show that I am a vendor at this year the first weekend in June.  I might be a little absent from my blog between that and getting all the yard work done while the nice weather lasts.

  2. I just love lilacs. In California you can grow them, but they have no scent which kind of defeats the purpose. Would you take a deep breath in for me?

  3. I am with you loving the smell of lilacs! I put some in the bathroom and being in a small room the smell is almost overwhelming but I love it. I have them all over the house. The weather has been amazing! I want the lilacs to keep blooming forever but it is such a short time we get to enjoy them. Yours are a beautiful color.

  5. Your home is so lovely and the lilacs only add to the loveliness. To my knowledge, I've never seen or smelled lilacs. Everyone talks about their wonderful scent and the flowers are beautiful. They are not something that will grow this far south.

I hope you do very well with your booth at The Farm Chicks show.

  24. I love your lilacs in this wonderful white ironstone pitcher! Love the contrast between the rich color of the bouquet and the earthy shades of the decor! Lilacs always remind me of the song "... I made wine from the lilac tree, put my heart in its recipe..." Happy Mother's Day to you!

  27. Hi Kathleen,

Your lilacs are gorgeously fresh and vibrant! I can imagine how breathtaking their scent must be! They bring back sweet memories of my childhood in Toronto and this year I considered myself lucky to have grown ONE single bunch in my Mediterranean garden here on Crete - but it was enough to take in their unique sweetness!

    Enjoy!
