~Fresh Flowers~

I hope everyone's New Year started out well.  Ours has been busy, as usual.  One thing I'd really like to accomplish this year is slow down and enjoy the little things that get taken for granted.

Flowers are one of those things that simply make me happy.  Since we don't have any of our own blooming this time of year, it feels good to splurge a little and buy some to scatter around my home.  Something about them just brightens my day.  Enjoy!  xoxo K.

Another thing my husband and I are trying to do more is spend quality time with each other and friends that we don't see very often.  We went with some last night to dinner and also saw Les Miserables which I highly recomend....it was amazing!!!  Wishing everyone a wonderful week:-)

  3. Your flowers look so pretty and I love seeing the angel wings in the background. So glad you won those! I want to see the movie you mentioned--though I don't know if I could get my husband to watch it with me. Great intention to spend more time with friends--sounds like a great plan to me :)

  6. Hey Kathleen,
Happy New Year! I also plan to slow down and enjoy the things we take for granted and remember to be grateful rather than dwell on the negatives in life.

I just love to have fresh flowers in the house as well. A friend brought over a bunch of flowers the other day and they make me happy!

Blessings to you and your family,
    Susie

  8. There is nothing like fresh flowers to bring cheer in winter. I love your whites and the arhcitectural element is beautiful. (I think I spelled that wrong according to spellcheck lol)

  9. As wonderful as technology is I believe it has caused us all to speed up to attempt to get even more done. It also means more things to repair, more hours waiting for repairman etc...lol

Slowing down has been my goal for a couple years now and sometimes the only way I succeed is to shut it all off, down, and tune out.
Good advice we all should heed, focus on the "heart" stuff.

  10. I can't even express how excited I am to see Les Miserables! How sweet that you and your husband are making time for each other and friends. I'm doing some prioritizing of the same kind in my own life these days. =)

  19. Oh how pretty and bright everything looks! I am still taking down the Christmas stuff. Hubby was off for two weeks and then we were snowed in...

Okay, one of my New Years resolutions is taking the time to leave more notes for my blogging friends! I always read posts in a reader and it makes it hard to leave a comment or two. But I do not miss a post! Love seeing the things you share and your lovely home. I wish I had more time to blog, but I work part time at our local library. I wanted to share with you my new blog, just opened this week.... http://www.brookekroeger.blogspot.com.... it will be for my vingage and digital work... including printables you might enjoy. I also have my home and garden site, http://www.creativecountrymom.blogspot.com. This week I am doing a look back to my spring garden.

Hope to be able to connect more in this new year. I am spending less time on Facebook and gave up twitter and everything else. A girl needs time to create, decorate and GARDEN ya know!

    God bless....Brooke

  25. Beautiful! I received that same white pitcher as a wedding shower gift almost 35 years ago, having been purchased by my friend's mother at an estate sale. It's my very favorite vase, and I was pleasantly surprised to see yours this morning so charmingly full of daisies!
