It seems like I've been telling you I'm going to post about my bedroom for weeeks now. Well, I'm finally done and what a job it was. Why is it that everything ends up in the bedroom? Probably because you can easily close the door when company stops by. It took me a while to go through all the piles, paint the walls and finally decorate:-) The good thing is I didn't have to buy anything new and used only what I already had or was saving for this redo. Kinda got camera happy, so there are lots of pics. Enjoy! xoxo K.
I've had the dresser since we moved in and still love it. My sweet lace angel wings that I won from Susan at Evelyn and Rose found a new place to hang.
The lady in the corner was a purchase I made this Summer and had been wanting one with a cage for a long time. Also found this door out in our storage shed and loved the writing 'First Aid". Funny thing was that neither my husband or I could remember where this door came from(this might mean we are hoarders..haha)
The iron bed has been with us for many years and the bedspread and pillow shams are from my good friend Shellagh over at Ticking and Toile who also made the chair slips on the chairs in this room...love all of them! I've had these sconces for sometime now and never knew where to put them, so decided to hang them from these shutters on either side of the bed instead of your usual lamp on the nightstand.
I've had this mantel for almost two years now and have been saving it for my bedroom.....it might be my favorite piece:-)
This cupboard holds our TV and stereo and I got the metal loveseat this Summer and put some Ikea pillows on it.
It feels so nice to have this room finally finished and I can't wait to decorate it for Christmas. I've been pinning away and you can see some of my inspiration HERE or you can "like" me on Facebook where I will also be sharing Christmas ideas.

Kathleen, this was well worth waiting for. just such a beautiful and peaceful room. so many elements to love, but I think the sconces on either side of the bed have to be it!
ReplyDeleteIt looks fabulous! I know it feels good to have it done. I'm inspired now. I'm trying to get up the nerve to start one of my bedrooms. Dreading it. Because like you said, those bedrooms tend to be the catch alls.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful beautiful room!
ReplyDeleteOh Kathleen, It looks just beautiful!! I love all of the creamy whites and the pop of black from your dress form. Oh, she is a beauty!! If you ever tire of her you can send her to California for an extended vacation! :)
ReplyDeleteYou did a fantastic job! After the holidays, my bedroom needs to be re-decorated, it has become a catch-all for my family as well.
Thank you for the gorgeous inspiration.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Sincerely,
Melinda
No wonder you took so many pictures! And I'm sooo glad! You have such a wonderful style and the collections to go with it. Wonderful, wonderful pieces. I am so inspired to work harder on my "hidden" room too! You are so right about things getting stashed in the master bedroom. Thanks for sharing you gorgeous room!
ReplyDeleteI am totally in love with your beautiful room Kathleen!!! You have so many unique pieces in the space that makes it really, really special.
ReplyDeletehugs...
Thank you for sharing "All" the photos. WOW your room is lovely. The dresser you love...I've one exact to it I redid for my crafty area. it was my grandmothers and no one ever remembers what happened to the mirror. I also have the same metal crucifix that sat on that dresser as a little girl.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the visit. I wish I had one room that size again to decorate...we downsized and I miss my space.
Oh my! I love your bedroom! This is always the last room to be completed it seems and I am no exception to this rule. I love the color you painted and every little detail you've added. I'm about to start pinning!!

What an absolutely wonderful room. So serene, and cozy and comfy, full of lovely things. How could one not sleep restfully and wake refreshed in such beautiful surroundings?! I know it was a lot of work, but the results are surely worth every minute.
ReplyDeleteI love what you've done in this room! I have the same bed awaiting paint and a similar dresser, too. I want that door!!! Thank you for sharing the reveal! Love it all!
ReplyDeleteCan I have your room? I love everything about it, every detail from the picture of Mary to the cross and seltzer bottle ...... Everything. What size is that bed? I'm having a hard time finding a nice king size bed.
ReplyDeleteLove your R/H French pillow, I have one to :)
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing I don't like, your flea market style is perfectly inspiring.

Your room is romantic and lovely! I love all the soft neutrals. My bedroom is a "catch all the junk" room, too, so when it is clean - for sure, get camera happy!
ReplyDeleteHow could you not have sweet dreams in that room? So beautiful, and peaceful, Kathleen. It's taking me forever to finish my living room. Now, you're making me want to work on my bedroom too. Thanks a lot! LOL Using what I have on hand too.
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering about the size of the mattress on you vintage bed? We have a vintage frame too..but we've successfully stradled a Queen on our frame for years now. People can't believe we sleep in such a 'small' bed. But we do...and finally, after re-arranging our room Memorial Day weekend, we sleep quite comfortably.
I love the sconces on the shutters and the fireplace mantle...just to name a few of the items in your room!
...like sweet dreams. ~Pat
How beautiful. I have the same large IKEA pillows and covers, never would have thought to use them as seat cushions. Fabulous idea! I also have the throw at the end of your bed! :)

Wow! I love your bedroom...so many pretty things. Love the mirrors and all the white. Your angel wings look great in there. Love the things on the sides on your bed with the lights mounted on them. Everything is lovely!
ReplyDeleteThis turned out so lovely! I too, am re-doing my bedroom and it's taking me forever! I want to do it like I have it envisioned in my head, so I'm willing to wait for just the right pieces and fabrics. I know what you mean about "dumping" everything in the bedroom...me too! You are motivating me to get crackin' though!
ReplyDeleteI think the "first aid" door is awesome!
Sweet dreams!

ReplyDeleteYour room is gorgeous, gorgeous! I am excited because I have a bedspread ordered from your friend at Ticking and Toile due to arrive for Christmas in the pale French blue. It's nice to see how your room looks because after my bedspread arrives I will need to change a whole bunch of things in our bedroom. I don't think the hubby realizes this, lol. Surprise!

Shabby GORGEOUS! Love everything! We just moved and the house is 44 years old (not that old) but hasn't been painted in 44 years, so every room is getting a fresh coat of paint (sand colored). Hoping the house will tell me eventually what color each room wants to be, but after seeing your bedroom...I think I'm gonna tell my bedroom a thing or two!! I have been looking all over for a fireplace mantel for our headboard (waterbed) and I adore the lights on the shutters, that adorable door (hoard on) and I love the posts by your cute Ikea bench! Beautiful hon, just beautiful!

Your bedroom is wonderful! It looks so cozy, serene and romantic!
ReplyDeleteYou did a fabulous job on your bedroom. It looks so peaceful. I have exactly the same iron bed in my bedroom. It has been passed down through severeal generations. It used to be dark brown, my DH painted it white for me.

Hello Kathleen, Your bedroom is like a dream. I'm so in love with that sweet bench, your dressform, the door and so many other things. What a clever idea to hang those sconces on the shutters. It looks great and so unique.

Wow Kathleen...what a beautiful haven you have put together ~ I love it!
ReplyDeleteSo many wonderful details...going back for another peek!
Oh my...sweet dreams indeed Kathleen! I absolutely adore this room. Every piece is unique and perfect. I'm dying over that First Aid door and your caged dress form..sigh! Also, I agree that mantel is THE favorite in the room. You've adorned it beautifully. I'm impressed with how much you have put into this room, and yet it doesn't look crowded at all - everything blends seamlessly. It was worth any work & painting you've put into it. Now this room must be your favorite place to be!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to see the angel wings here - they are quite content in this heavenly place. :)
xo, Susan
It is all so beautiful, love it. I wish I could redo my guest room to look like that but unfortunately my guest room and craft room are one and the same.
ReplyDeleteKathleen your bedroom looks so beautiful! You must be thrilled with it! I recently ordered a new bedspread from Shellagh too! I am anxiously waiting for it!
