Relaxing on the Patio

We've been having some beautiful weather here lately and I've finally gotten our patio all scrubbed, cleaned and planted so we can relax and enjoy it!  I feel that in the Summer this area is an extension of our home because we eat dinner out here on warm evenings more than we eat in our dining room and we just hang out as a family in this area:-) It is so nice that we are totally secluded back here without a neighbor in sight, only greenery and trees.
( sorry the photos are blurry...maybe it was too sunny and probably didn't have my camera set right)

When you are standing at this corner you can look down and see our pond where we like to enjoy roasting hot dogs and marshmellows at the firepit, but I couldn't get a good photo of this area since it is really shaded.  I will be sharing this post with Donna at Funky Junk for her Perfect Picture Room Reveal on SNS.  Enjoy!  xoxo K.

If you follow the stairs and turn right you will end up at our basement patio which we just finished off this year with a cement slab similar to our other patio area and I'm hoping to share some photos later when I have all the furniture painted and plants planted.  Enjoy your weekend!  I will be helping my friend JoDee at the Barn House Show and everything is already looking amazing!

  4. Kathleen you are so lucky to have such plush landscapes to surround your family in.
I would love to be out in the back and not have a neighbor in sight...instead we get loud cell phone chats and cigarette smoke if we sit out in the afternoon ;) city life.

  24. I love your dining room but this is the place to hang in the summer for sure. The plants, may I add are looking well taken care of.
I have trouble taking photos in the middle of day too. I find I like taking them 2 hours before the sun goes down. You get better contrast yet it's still bright enough to keep the aperture open.
