~White Wednesday # 142~

March is finally here and I woke up to snow on the ground this morning....crazy since we had such a beautiful weekend with temps almost reaching 60!  You never know what you might get this time of year.

I bought this cute little fern a few weeks back and am hoping it will survive since I don't have very good luck with house plants.  I sat him inside an urn near a window in my dining room to see how it will do there.

I also wanted to share this wonderful vintage french liscence plate.  I love the shape and patina.  Enjoy!  xoxo K.

  1. We had 21 inches for snow in northern MI over the weekend, so spring seems far away. Thanks for hosting again this week. Laura

  6. I LOVE that license plate Kathleen!! No snow here and today it is in the 50's...tomorrow supposed to be in the 60's. :)

I purchased ivy plants last summer for outside in pots and I decided to try and winter them over in the house. { I don't do houseplants well either} They are on the back porch where it is colder and they are growing by leaps and bounds! I have never seen such huge ivy leaves. :)

  8. Hi Kathleen, what a sweet little plant ~ I only have one plant in my home and have had it for several years ~ during the summer it's out on the front covered porch, then during the colder months it's inside the home...seems to work great for it, lol :) Fab vintage license plate!! I'm all linked up for this wonderful linky party ~ thanks so much for being such a fab hostess!!

    Warmest hugs, Brenda

  15. The little license plate is adorable and so unusual. It looks lovely with your new fern and the other aged pieces. I'm not linking up today but I have a little white desk/table that I am currently painting that I hope to share with White Wednesday next week. For now I am enjoying the smell of banana blueberry bread baking this evening while I check out the other party goers. Wishing you a great week!

  31. Lovely. Ferns like moisture and indirect light. Mist it every few days. Also since it's in a container like that without drainage holes try not to overwater and the roots will then sit in to much water. Also pay attention to how moist your home is. You can stick a thin dowel rod in your plant every week to check the moisture level toward the bottom of the plant. You probably already know this, but I thought I would share anyway.

  42. Hi Kathleen, I'm a new follower and new to your party. Thanks for hosting and I so love your little planter on the pedestal. I was given two similar pedestals from a friend and I'm not using them very well. Thanks for the inspiration. Would love if you'd link up to my Frugal Treasures Party going on now.

  43. Hello,
I love your Blog and the license plate is so nice, but -I think- it's not french. The eagle badge is German and the Word "Bundes Finanzverwaltung" means Federal Financial Management. But it's still absolutely charming and old.
Sorry for my bad english ;o)

  44. Thanks for the info. I was told it was french and i couldn't read the badge so I wasn't positive:-)

    1. I'm not so good with plants either, but that French license plate is fantastic. And the garden urn isn't to bad either. I've been blog surfing tonight and happened upon your blog. How fun! Lots of great ideas!

I'm actually a show promoter and put on numerous antique and vintage shows throughout the country and would love to have you stop by and check out my site (www.vintagemarketplacestyle.blogspot.com). We recently launched what is a new concept for us with our show in Nashville, and we're expanding it to our Springfield, Ohio show. If you like what you see, please feel free to grab my badge. Also, let me know if you'd like more info on the show itself. It should be a good time and we're still looking for dealers that have great vintage style. Take care!
