~Bathroom Changes~

I've been changing things up in one of my bathrooms and I thought I'd share with you today for VIF with Debra at Common Ground. I've been working on several areas in my home lately and trying to get a cleaner look. I wanted this bathroom to have an industrial feel and had been collecting a few things especially for here. As you can see it's a small room and was kinda hard to get good photos, but I think you can get the feel for it. I'm adding lots of lavender in here to give it a great smell especially from the steam after a shower. I do have another shelf in the corner on the countertop that still needs to be painted and it will be filled with more bottles, soaps, shells etc....Enjoy! xoxo K.

Metal baskets are good for both holding toilet paper and as a shelf on the wall.

I like the look of the metal gears on the wall, but looking at them in these photos, they might need to be centered better?

And of coarse what room is complete without a few old clock faces?

  2. Love what you did with your bathroom. it looks wonderful. I can relate to it being hard to get pictures. I redid mine and had to climb in the bathtub for a few of the shots!

  7. You did a beautiful job! I didn't see anything wrong with the gears. And girl... you just think it's a small room. It's nearly twice the size of either of my 1950's bathrooms!

  9. I love it all! Especially the hanging basket of towels. But I'm really curious about that countertop. What can you tell me about it? We're looking for something different for our kitchen.

  10. I love the way you have decorated this bathroom. Living in Australia means it is hard to find lovely old bits and pieces to use in decorating. So frustrating when I see all the lovely things you have access to over at you flea markets. Looking at your displays did give me the idea to use a galvanised bucket to hold toilet rolls in our ensuite. The basket just isn't doing it for me anymore. Thanks for sharing your ideas and have a great weekend.

  13. Love what you have done in your bathroom Kathleen. I have a stand just like the one you have the toilet paper on, but I use it in my craft room to hold ribbon. Hmm..rethinking how to use it now. lol.

  23. Your gears look fine. Good thing you posted 'cause I was getting antsy waiting.

Your bathroom looks wonderful. My biggest problem with my bathroom is my obsession with body powder (Johnson lavender baby powder is really nice.) It gets on everything and makes keeping lots of pretties sitting around looking decent.

My dream? A little closet just for smacking myself with a powder puff. Once a month I could vacuum up all the extra. :-)

  67. Wow- this is my first visit to your blog... won't be my last. I have a list of vintage things I want/need and as I'm looking at your pics I'm thinking- apothecary cabinet/card catalog check, mannequin form check, vintage scales check.... AND the most surprising to me is THESE GEARS. About two years ago I got the idea that I HAD to have gears for my husband's office- I got the gears but they were SO HEAVY.. so I couldn't hang them on the wall. I later found gears at Restoration Hardware, but refused to buy them BECAUSE I knew there had to be a way to use authentic gears. Then I see them here on your wall in your bathroom- love, love, love! Your home is lovely. ~Kiki (www.untamedperspective.com)
