~Vintage Inspiration Friday~

I have wanted to join Debra at Common Ground for her Vintage Inspiration Friday, but time has not allowed. Today her theme is the Fall decorated table. Well my dining room table has been lost in a sea of "junk" for months now. It seems to be the place to set all my treasures I bring home. I've been busy going through, cleaning, fixing, washing and pricing and in doing so have a clean table. These dishes are some I've been collecting and thought it would be fun to decorate my newly clean table for Debra's party.

It turned out very simple looking which I like, but after seeing the photos I wish I had put something under the plates for a placemat. My Dad has a bird hunting dog that he enjoys hunting with and has been saving me the pheasant feathers. A different look rather than a pitcher of flowers and the little white baby boos are always fun to decorate with in the Fall. Enjoy! xoxo K.

~White Wednesday # 71~

I'm going into my photo archives tonight since I got home so late. This is an area on my porch right now. I like how the rosemary looks inside the birdcage and the madonna statue just seemed to fit. It reminds me more of a Christmas vignette, but it will be here before you know it so I'll be ready. I just received the new Jeanne de' Arc Jul magazine and it is chocked full of beautiful inspiration. I can't wait to decorate for Christmas.

Which brings me to my good news. Not only have I been asked back to Monticello Antique Marketplace to be a part of their fabulous Christmas show, but starting the first of November I'm going to have my own space in the mall. I've dreamt of having my own shop one day and this is definelty the next best thing. It's my favorite Antique Mall and I'm so excitied to be a part of it with such amazing people and talent. ~My New Look~

So what do you think? I've been seeing some amazing blogs with new headers and backgrounds and have wanted to update my blog which was pretty boring. I knew that when I did it I wanted Karen over at Valentine Design to do it for me since she does such an amazing job, but just never took the time to look into it. Well, last week I was trying to change the color of my font on my header and was getting very confused because I didn't have a layout button anymore. Long story short, I was playing around and pushed a button I shouldn't have and lost everything on my sidebar. Instant panic.........so I emailed Karen to see if she could help me and the next day she got it all back for me. Needless to say the timing was right for me to have her pretty up my blog. I love how it turned out and she is so sweet and easy to work with. She pretty much already had some things in mind for me and knew the look I wanted. I now have a button for "White Wednesday" for any of you who want to add it to your blog. I think Karen was one of the very first people to sign up for the WW theme and one of the first people I met blogging. Thanks Karen.

~White Wednesday #70~

Well it's been absolutely gorgeous weather here this past week which is probably why a whole week has gone by without me posting anything. Partly due to trying to be outside any free minute I have and also nothing really comes to mind to post about. Does this happen to you sometimes......no new ideas? I guess I'll just wait it out and hope inspiration hits. It better hit soon because I have lots to do to get ready for the Christmas show at Monticello's in December.

Since it has been so nice I think I'll share a little area on my porch today with a beautiful white mum and of coarse a white pumpkin. Love how they both look with my old chippy column in the background. Enjoy! xoxo K.

~White Wednesday # 69~

I hope everyone's week is going well so far. After a nasty weekend with buckets of rain we have had a couple beautiful mid 60's sunny days. I'm hoping it lasts so I can get out and get some pansies planted in pots on my porch not to mention all the yard work that needs to be done this time of year.

For today's post I'd like to share a vignette I have in my kitchen right now with a sign that I made. I had this board for a while and couldn't decide what I wanted to put on it. Then one day "Bakery" just popped into my head. My husband told me if we have this sign up there needs to be baked goods all the time......well we all know that's not going to happen,right. I do seem to do more baking this time of year when the days are getting shorter and I'm in the house more. I love the black scale I got at the Flea Market last Spring and I just picked up the lovely white salt and pepper shakers at a sale I went to this Summer at Roost REimagined. The pumpkin is a fake that I picked up at Goodwill which I like because the real ones usually just rot in my house. It all just seemed to work together....now I gotta go get baking(haha). ~Hydrangeas & Silver~

A friend of mine brought me a huge bouquet of hydrangeas this weekend. She was cutting back her bush and had so many blooms. I love hydrangeas and really appreciate her thoughtfulness. I am going to dry them and use them in my display for the Christmas show. Since it's Silver Sunday hosted by Beth over at Gypsy Fish I thought I'd put some in one of my favorite silver pitchers and play along. I think they compliment each other nicely, don't you?. ~White Wednesday # 68~

Well this past week has gone by in a blur and I can't believe it's already time for another WW post. Luckily I found some white pumpkins to share with you Jeanne d' Arc style. I love how this vignette turned out in my cupboard and it was nice to take my mind off everything that's been going on lately around here. I've had a hard time finding white pumpkins this year I think I'll have to improvise if I want more by painting some orange ones white. It might be fun to do some stenciling on them also. ~Sunflowers and a Big Thank You~

I want to start this post with a big thank you to all your kind coments with best wishes for my son. He is doing much better and we are on our way to getting him healed and back to his normal routine. He will probably have to have crutches for at least a couple months, so that might slow him down a bit, but he's young and will bounce back.

It truly is amazing how this blogging community comes together when there is a crisis in one of our lives. All the support out there really hit home for me this past week and puts things into perspective. I feel I've been so busy lately and and don't have the time for the simplest things.....especially sitting down to read through blogs and I've really been missing it because I've come to love all the inspiration I get from so many blogs out there. I'm looking forward to colder, shorter days with less to do.

We had an unusual Summer here and so our garden didn't produce much vegetables. We did, however have many sunflowers come up. They reseed themselves and come back year after year along with my cosmos. I like this addition to my garden and you always know Fall is coming when they are all in bloom. I picked some today and brought them inside to enjoy right as you walk into our entryway. Enjoy! xoxo K.
