~White Wednesday # 45~

For this Wednesday's post I'm going to share a Spring classic. Whenever I see the apple blossoms I know warmer weather isn't too far off. We live up a little higher in elevation so mine are blooming a little later than most. They are so sweet and I love how the pink buds look against the white pots, plates, clocks and pitchers. They are a reminder that it is the start of my favorite seasons and when the weather starts turning cooler again in Fall I'll have lots of apples to make pies. Yum! Enjoy. xoxo K.

  2. I love apple blossoms too. I cut lots of branches to bring indoors while they were blooming, but now the blossoms are gone. The trees are green and leafy now.

  5. Those apple blossoms are beautiful. We've had more rain than we usually do this season, and my garden is SO over grown. It needs some major work!
    Take care, Sue

  6. I've not been around apple trees so these precious little pink darlings are new to me. They look like miniature peonies getting ready to open up. And of course your ironstone is wonderful! Love the red and those cute numbered crocks!

  12. I don't think I have ever seen any apple blossoms, but they are absolutely gorgeous. Putting them right next to the plates of that design -- genius!

Oh those are so pretty, I love them when they aren't quite open... they almost look like berries but the color is so wonderful.
Maybe next week I can join you again. I have been nuts here lately, computers and I aren't a good mix sometimes.
Hope you have a great WW

  21. Hi Kathleen, Thank you for hosting White Wednesday, I've decided to join in the fun tonight. I'm waiting for my apple tree to blossom, but it's still cold here in the "Berkshires" so it will be a week or two yet. I can't wait to cut lots of branches and bring them inside to display. I wish the blooms lasted longer, but I can't wait for the show my sweet tree will give me shortly. Do you know what type apples grow on your tree? I live in a neighborhood called "Apple Orchard", I'm on the corner of Wealthy Avenue, and so I assume my apples are wealthy apples, but I'm not 100 % sure.
I've eaten a few over the last 26 years but have never used them to bake anything. They seem kind of dry...maybe I should try something anyway. I loved your display and look forward to many more White Wednesdays with you! Have a wonderful week.
    Hugz,
    Kim

What type of apples do you harvest? Do you have more than one variety? I have a wonderful old baked apple recipe if you have a nice big juicy variety. Let me know and I'll send it to you!

Happy WW! Thanks again for hosting. Hard to imagine it has been 45!

All your appleblossoms filled containers are beautiful. They look so springtime fresh.
Your mantle looks gorgeous and it is nice you can have them all over the house. Don't you just love having fresh flowers, especially when you can just go pick them. Lots of apples for the fall sounds nice too. Nice apple pies and cobblers, something nice to look forward to.
