Well we made it home safely. It was a little hard for me to leave the wonderful 80 degree day we had yesterday to wake up this morning to 40 degrees and cloudy with rainy. It is supposed to be sunny and in the 60's this weekend, so I can't complain too much.
When we were planning this trip I knew I wanted to take some time to stop by Country Roads Antiques since we were so close. I'm so glad I did and it is an amazing Antique Mall. The building alone is wonderful, but you put all that awesome old, tattered and worn stuff inside and it is an experience. I loved the outside garden area and was inspired with all the recycled items they used out there. My favorite was an old freezer turned into a fountain.
I was so glad that Sue was working that day and had a chance to meet her. She was so nice and has made a wonderful business for herself. We were talking about the people who have spaces there that I might know through blogging and guess who comes walking down the isle, but Kate from Salvage Dior herself. I was so glad to meet her and her husband and we had a chance to visit a little bit. These next two photos are from her space which looked beautiful right as you walk in from out in the gardens.
I recognized the gals from Nice and Easy Antiques booth right away because of some of the projects they've been posting about lately. I only wish I could have met them also. These photos are from their space.
This is my daughter, Nichole standing in front ofthe building. If any of you live in the area and haven't been to this amazing Antique Mall or are going to be nearby I'd highly recommend stopping in. You won't be disappointed!
Enjoy your day!

I can 't wait till tomorrow..............hugs from Ria

Beautiful photos......it sound like my kind of antique mall!
ReplyDeleteHey Kathleen,
ReplyDeleteWe have a Vegas group that has been traveling down to Orange Circle for many years. Someone will get an itch to go and suddenly "Road Trip" and we hit the I 15 by 4:00 am and shop all day and drive home.
The CA people think we're nuts..but when you have 1-2 cars filled with good friends and junk food the distance goes by in a flash! Country Roads has always been a favorite, and we often hit there first, cause behind them is the best parking!!!! Don't you love the garden area? Wish I had known you were going, we know some great food places there and in Anaheim and some other great spots close by you should visit. Next time....
Happy St Pats!
Suzan

I'm ashamed to say that I worked at St. Joe's in Orange for 4 years and never visited the circle there...except for one time when they had a food festival but it was in the 100's so we didn't stay long. Looks like a lovely shop tho!

Repeat after me and nobody gets hurt... "I will take Necel with me next time."
ReplyDeleteBy the way... I am the very tired person who is linking the same post to "Rednesday" and "White Wednesday" and got them backwards so my link on your party says, "1950s Pin-Up Girl in Gorgeous Red Dress." And my Rednesday post says, "1950s Pin-Up Girl in Flowing White Gown."
OOPS...!!! I am soooo sorry.
Necel from the Old House in Texas

I can spend hours in Country Roads. And a lot of money. I'm glad you had fun and a beautiful day! I also love the old hardware store in Old Town Orange. Can't think of the name of it at the moment. Hmm, maybe I need to take a field trip. . .
